Ash Trees / Ash Dieback Disease information

Chalara Fraxinea  -  Castle Point Borough Council is following advice given by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Aff\airs (DEFRA) and the Forestry Commission.

The disease, which afffects all varieties of ash including ornamental trees causes the trees crown to die back and is usually fatal to effected trees although some mature trees may be immune

Reporting Ash Dieback Disease (Chalara fraxinea)

If you think you have identified a diseased tree please check the link below before reporting to DEFRA Chalara helpline 08459 33 55 77 which is ope 8am - 6pm every day www.forestry.gov.uk/chalara

If you think you have identified the disease in a tree on Castle Point Borough Council land you can report the trees location to rlynch@castlepoint.gov.uk

Trees situated in teh highway verge are the responsibility of Essex County Council Highways and reports should be sent to h&tlocalism&customersouth@essex.gov.uk
