For the current year 2009 to January 2010 the above club has vacancies for playing membership.

For anyone considering bowling as a pastime the following may be of interest.

History

The Club was founded in 1930 and has been at its present location since the early 1960’s.

The total playing membership is presently limited to 150. This was made up of 95 men and 55 ladies. As from July 2005 the club became fully mixed so this ratio changes according to applications. There is also a fluctuating non playing membership consisting of men and ladies who have been full members of the club but are no longer able to manage outdoor bowling.

 

Playing Season

The club plays outside May to September consisting of internal leagues, competitions, friendly matches against other clubs both home and away and roll up sessions.

In the winter months it has a very active indoor Short Mat program. This consist of internal leagues in the morning between 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Casual rollup’s between 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm and additional roll ups in the evening 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. All sessions are 2 hours.

The charge for this is £1 per player per session.

Cost.

Items 1, 2 are the 2009 charges to join the Club.

1.               The joining fee is £65.00.

2.               The annual subscription is £47.00.

3.               A payment of £96.00. 18 to 59 years of age or £62.00 if 60 years of age or older and £38.00 under 18 years of age, payable to The Castle Point B. C. (through the club) for a green fee season ticket.

4.               Item 1.is a one off cost.

There is of course the additional cost of personal equipment and clothing.

Dress code.

The dress code out doors is either Grey trousers/skirts and white tops (Greys) or all white (whites) as specified on the day. Club ties are worn by the men (in some instances ties are optional).

The Short Mat is casual dress unless playing away/at home against other Clubs then greys are worn.
