How can I claim Council Tax Benefit/Housing Benefit?You must complete a claim form to claim Housing or Council Tax Benefit. You only need to complete one claim form if you are claiming both Housing and Council Tax Benefit.
If you are also making a new claim for Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance you may make your claim for Council Tax and Housing Benefit through the Department For Work and Pensions by phoning 0845 6088575. If you are not also claiming for Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance you can get a claim form from us by:
- phoning 01268 882200
- visiting the Council Offices in Benfleet or the Cash office in Sydervelt Road on Canvey Island
- e-mailing us at: benefits@castlepoint.gov.uk
- downloading the claim from our website: Forms and Leaflets
