Castle Point is a Top Performer

Castle Point scored a good Level Three in its recent Use of Resources assessment carried out by the Audit Commission, an independent Parliamentary body which is responsible for auditingcentral and local government. It grades councils from Level One (the lowest) to Level Four (highest). The Level Three rating maintains Castle Point among the best performing local authorities.
The assessment looks at how well organisations are managing and using their resources to deliver value for money and better and sustainable outcomes for local people.
Items looked at are:
- Managing finances - focusing on sound and strategic financial management.
- Governing the business - focusing on strategic commissioning and good governance.
- Managing resources - focusing on the effective management of natural resources, assets and people.
Leader of the Council, Pam Challis said: “Despite the recession and the more stringent government assessment requirements this year, I am delighted that Castle Point continues to maintain its high performance in the management of resources and in providing good value for money services to our residents.”
