Castle Point Borough Council spends in the order of 12 million each year with the private sector which represents some significant opportunities for a wide range of businesses.

Some of our current notices are advertised via our "Buyer Profile and Procurement Portal" where suppliers wishing to win work with the Council can register their interest and set up automatic notification for any relevant notices. This service is provided using the BiP Solutions Select Service. This service is common to most members of the Procurement Agency for Essex, and registering once will mean that potential suppliers will be alerted of public sector business opportunities across virtually the whole of Essex.

e-procurement - Castle Point Borough Council prefers to email orders and pay invoices via BACS. This speeds up the process and reduces costs for both the supplier and the buyer.

The Council no longer operates an approved list of contractors for construction and associated work, and are now using Construction Line as our main means of vetting contractors. Link to Construction Line.

Competition for Council contracts is very keen, using this guide does not guarantee that any organisation will win council business. However, the guide should assist suppliers, submitting quotations and tenders for business opportunities.
