Hadleigh Christmas Market Kicks Off the Festivities

On one of the busiest shopping days of the year, residents turned out in force to support the second annual Hadleigh Castle Rotary Club Christmas Market.

The event, staged at Hadleigh Old Fire Station, attracted more than 700 visitors and raised over £1,500 for charity.

In line with the national initiative Small Business Saturday, a mix of business and community events were organised for the day, aimed at encouraging increased footfall into Hadleigh Town Centre.

Retailers competed in a best dressed shop front competition, with the Mayor of Castle Point, Cllr Jackie Govier, judging the winner  -  High St Hairdresser, Hairport -narrowly beating Forbes Opticians into second place.
