There are numerous business networking and training events available for Castle Point businesses throughout the year.  From the Council run Castle Point Business Forum, to more targeted training around specific subject areas including business start-ups, finance, management, marketing and IT.

Most opportunities are free or are heavily subsidised and all are targeted to boost your business!

Venue: Hadleigh Old Fire Station, High Street, Hadleigh, Essex SS7 2PA

Attendees will hear presentations about some of the exciting projects across the region including the Lower Thames Crossing and the A127/A130 Fairglen Interchange Improvement Scheme, as well as a presentation about accessing public sector contracts by Essex County Council. The Mayor of Castle Point Borough Council, Cllr Clive Walter, will also be officially launching the 2019 Mayor's Awards.

The alternative finance workshops will provide you with detail of the multiple options that are available to finance your business, outside of regular bank business loans and overdrafts. You will learn about the pros and cons of crowdfunding and the different platforms that exist from reward to equity. You will also explore invoice financing, angel and venture capital investment and peer to peer lending. You will get a realistic viewpoint of which routes your business should explore. There is a charge of £10 per person for the 3 hour workshops .

The Investment Readiness workshops will give you insight into what financers want to see in a business before parting with their money. You will be able to review your own business and finance plans and see if you can meet the requirements with the help of investment specialists. If your business is not currently accessing finance due to risk of other factors you will be able to prepare an action plan to make your company investment ready. There is a charge of £10 per person for the 3 hour workshop.
