Dog Lead Consultation

In 2017, Castle Point Borough Council under the Anti – Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 (“the Act”) introduced a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) making it an offence for persons not to pick up faeces after their dog has fouled on any open land to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access (with or without payment) within the Castle Point Borough boundary.

Following an informal consultation last year the Council is now proposing to introduce a PSPO requiring dogs to be kept on a lead on Canvey Island Seafront Beaches and seaward side walkway, between the 1st April and 30th September inclusive each year.

Prior to making a PSPO the Council is required to consult with the general public.

Map below shows the area proposed where dogs shall be kept on leads, and we would like you to give a Yes or No answer to thequestion below.
