Flyposting is an illegal, anti-social activity that creates a negative impression of an area and contributes to people’s fear of crime.
Flyposting is an offence under Section 132(1) of the Highways Act 1980. Castle Point Borough Council are now issuing Fixed Penalty Notices of £75 per flyposter under this act. Over 9 Fixed Penalty Notices have been issued over flyposting in the borough, from local nightclubs to multinational companies.
If you would like any unsightly flyposting removed from Council property, highway signage or street furniture, please contact our Street Scene Services Department.
