Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
In line with social distancing advice and to protect residents and staff the Council has taken the decision to close the Council offices to the public until further notice.
Whilst the offices are closed to visitors, our operating hours remain unchanged. You are still able to access services and information from the website 24/7 and via email and phone during operating hours.
For information and advice on the Council’s response to coronavirus (COVID-19), changes to Council services, the support that is available to residents and businesses, and to volunteer to help in your community, please see our Coronavirus information page
We ask that all residents #StayHomeSaveLives – see a Message from the Leader of the Council
New Local Plan
On 22 October 2019, the Council agreed to proceed with the Pre-submission Local Plan and Policies Map to a Regulation 19 public consultation. The associated documents can be found on the Agendas and Minutes Library page under 'Council'.
The New Castle Point (Pre-submission) Local Plan and Policies Map was out for a public consultation from Monday 16 December 2019 to Friday 14 February 2020.
Local Plan Progress Update
Updated 27th March 2020
Thank you if you made representations during the recent new Local Plan consultation. We received about 650 separate responses.
The Council is currently in the process of assessing representations received on the Pre-submission Local Plan during the consultation, which ran from the 16 December 2019 to the 14 February 2020 and loading them into a consultation database. Where you have provided an email address you will receive email notification when it has been uploaded to the database. If you used the portal you should have received an automated email when you submitted your comments.
Due to the current Coronavirus public health emergency, it will not be possible, in the short term, to notify those who have made representations without providing an email address. If you have not provided an email address with your representations, can you please email us at email@example.com.
We will endeavour to write to everyone who has made a representation as soon as possible. Once all representations have been processed, we will upload a full list of representations received to this webpage. The Council will produce a Consultation Statement (or statement of community engagement) in which we will set out the response to each representation.
At this time, it remains the Council’s intention to submit the Local Plan for Examination in Public in the summer of 2020. Interested parties are recommended to visit this webpage regularly for updates.
