Apply for Public Health Grant Funding

Local community and voluntary organisations are now able to apply for Castle Point Borough Council and Rochford District Council’s 2020/21 Public Health Grant funding.

Grants of up to £1000, or £2000 if the activity runs in both Castle Point and the Rochford District, are available to support initiatives that focus on improving the health and wellbeing of residents. Applications can be submitted from 9:30am on Monday 16th November 2020. To apply please go to www.rochford.gov.uk/PublicHealthGrants

Castle Point and Rochford’s Public Health Improvement Officer, Sarah Alderton, said: “We recognise that many existing community organisations are struggling right now because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and are under increased demand to provide vital support to residents. Therefore, we hope that these grants will help them to continue providing a whole host of services within our communities.

“Applicants should demonstrate how their work contributes to the priorities in the Castle Point and Rochford Health and Wellbeing Strategy. Activities that improve physical and / or mental health and wellbeing, support people to age well and live independent lives, and those that build community resilience will all be considered.”

The initiatives must also work to tackle health inequalities, to ensure interventions target those most in need. Full details and eligibility criteria can be found on the Rochford District Council website www.rochford.gov.uk/PublicHealthGrants

Residents and organisations are encouraged to share this information with their community networks, to encourage local applications.

If you have any questions or need clarification on the funding then please contact Sarah Alderton by email salderton@castlepoint.gov.uk / sarah.alderton@rochford.gov.uk or call 07971817615. All applications will be considered by a review panel within four weeks of receipt.
