Armistice Day - Friday, 11th November
Hadleigh - The Salvation Army will be holding a short service of remembrance. This will commence at 10.45am and will be held in the forecourt area of the hall in London Road, Hadleigh. The service will conclude following the last post and the 2 minutes of silence at 11am.
Thundersley - Revd. Andrew Hudson will lead a short act of remembrance in Thundersley Village at the War Memorial, at 10.50am. 2 minutes silence will be observed at 11am. Please gather by 10.40am.
Remembrance Day - Sunday, 13th November
Canvey Island - The Royal British Legion Remembrance Service, The Paddocks Community Centre, Canvey Island, conducted by Revd. Marion Walford, including observance of the 2 minutes silence. The service will be held outside in the grounds of the Paddocks and will commence at 10.40 am. After the service there will be the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial. The Procession will then Parade down to the Royal British Legion, Denham Road, Canvey Island SS8 9HB.
Benfleet - St. Mary’s Parish Church, South Benfleet, will be holding a service commencing at 9.45am. Followed by a service outside commencing at 11.00am, with a 2 minutes’ silence . There will also be an opportunity to lay wreaths.
Hadleigh - The Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance will be held in St. James’ The Less Parish Church conducted by Revd. Ruth Cartwright. The service starts at 10.45am and the 2 minutes silence at 11.00am will be observed. The service will end 11.45am approximately, please then make your way to the War Memorial (walking on the footpath) for a short service and laying of wreaths.
Thundersley - St Peter's Church, Thundersley, will be holding a service at 10.50am. Please assemble outside on the vicarage green by 10.45am, the 2 minutes silence will be observed at 11.00 am. Following which there will be an opportunity to lay wreaths. For those that wish to stay for the service of communion, you may do so afterwards, and this will conclude at 12 noon approximately.
