Castle Point Borough Council Call for Sites

Castle Point Borough Council are seeking to identify areas of the Borough in which housing, employment and other development  could  take place.

This is an opportunity for developers, landowners and other interested parties to put forward sites for potential development.

The initial ‘Call for Sites’ will run from 30th April 2018 until 31st May 2018.

Following that there will be the opportunity, via our website, for sites to be put forward on an ongoing basis.

The ‘Call for Sites’ will not decide whether a site should be allocated for development. An assessment of all sites and submitted information will be carried out before any decision is taken and the most appropriate, deliverable sites taken forward.

The Call for Sites will involve updating our Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA), which is a technical study that identifies sites with housing and employment potential, as well as updating our Brownfield Land Register (BLR), which is a list of previously-developed sites that are considered to be available and suitable for development.

The Council is also updating the information it holds on the existing sites contained within its SHLAA and BLR and will be contacting landowners and agents accordingly.
