Castle Point fireworks back with a bang

Bonfire night in Castle Point will go with a bang again in 2023 thanks to the return of the Council run fireworks display.

The family event will see fireworks, food stalls and more at the Waterside Leisure Centre for the first time since 2019.

At a meeting of Castle Point Borough Council’s Cabinet on Wednesday (March 15), councillors agreed a £17,000 budget to support with developing and delivering the event.

Cllr Steve Cole, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Special Projects, said: “For years this was an important date in many people’s calendar.

“It was sad when it had to be cancelled due to Covid and I am delighted that we have been able to bring it back this year.

“We will put on a fun filled community display everyone in Castle Point can be proud of.”

Plans for the display will now be finalised with tickets expected to go on sale in the coming months.
