Recycling Sacks Available in Town Centre Shopping Centre

Castle Point Council has made recycling sacks available from the lobby of the Knightswick Shopping Centre on Canvey. The sacks are free for Castle Point residents but are limited to one roll per person.

Cllr Andrew Sheldon, the Cabinet Member responsible for Waste and Recycling at Castle Point Council said:

“Our fantastic waste operatives should be finishing their annual deliveries of pink sacks to every household in the next few weeks. Although extra pink sacks are available to order online via the Council’s website, a number of residents either don’t have easy access to the internet or don’t feel comfortable ordering things online. Until Canvey library begins to stock them again, we are keeping a stock of pink recycling sacks in the Knightswick Centre for residents to come and pick up when they visit the Town Centre for lunch or some shopping.

“Please only take one roll at a time to ensure stocks last and make sure you follow appropriate social distancing rules to stay safe.”

To order pink sacks, green sacks, caddy sacks or black bin bags from the online shop visit the council website at castlepoint.gov.uk. Pink sacks are also available to pick up from the Co-op convenience store in Kiln Road, Benfleet opposite the Council Offices.
