Runnymede Gym extension opening soon

The Mayor of Castle Point Councillor Brian Wood was at a ‘Topping Out’  ceremony 29th November at Runnymede Pool, (“Topping Out” is a builders rite traditionally held when the last beam (or its equivalent) is placed atop a structure during its construction).

Runnymede Gym extension opening soon Runnymede Pool in Kiln Road, Benfleet is being expanded to provide state-of-the-art gym facilities. The official opening ceremony of the £1million investment in sporting facilities by Castle Point Borough Council is on target and will take place on 2nd January 2018.  The facility will be opened to the public on 3rd January 2018....great timing for New Year resolutions to get fit in 2018

The new gym will feature one of the UK’s first bespoke HD athletic free weights rigs for multi-use workouts alongside machines for cardio, strength and fitness exercise. Touch screens feature on equipment with the facility to access Netflix, Facebook and virtual running routes.

A dedicated spinning room will have top of the range bikes with coach by colour training and a wall-mounted screen capable of uploading virtual routes!

The new facility includes a studio that can be used for group sessions and will be available for hire by local dance and fitness groups.

A new café, together with remodelled toilets and changing facilities complete the refurbishment, along with maintenance and repair work to the popular pool.

Memberships are available now from £31 per month, without a joining fee! This includes multi-site access to Runnymede Leisure Centre and Waterside Farm Leisure Centre.

If a customer chooses to do so they can automatically start their multisite membership package once the new Runnymede Leisure Centre opens early in the New Year or use Waterside Farm Leisure Centre right now in the meantime.
