The Mayor’s Business Award’s 2022: Recognising Business And Community Excellence In Castle Point

 

The winners of the Castle Point Mayor’s Awards 2022 were announced at an Afternoon Tea Reception at the Council offices last Thursday 31st March.

From this year’s impressive entries, Canvey company PLAYFIX LTD won the coveted title of Castle Point Business of the Year. Playfix is a family run company that specialises in the inspection, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of outdoor play equipment putting the safety of children in the playground as their priority.

 

SEVEN TWO SEVEN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS were Highly Commended for achieving business excellence.  Seven Two Seven is an architectural design consultancy that offers expert services to the residential, commercial and retail sectors.

 

PROSPORTS SOLUTIONS won The Mayor’s Special Award for Business Resilience. Prosports’s mission is to use sport to make a positive impact and change lives, making sport more accessible to everyone. The company has worked with Primary Schools across South Essex for the past 14 years to assist when schools do not have the time or facilities to put in place effective physical activity. Prosports Solutions learned to adapt to the pandemic and lockdowns by creating online provision for schools and parents, providing children with the opportunity to be healthy and active whilst being restricted indoors.

 

KUSHI RESTAURANT were recognised for their outstanding service to the community and awarded The Mayor’s Business in the Community Award.  The restaurant opened on Canvey Island in 2017 and prides itself as a community restaurant. Kushi was recognised in the House of Lords in 2021 for their ongoing work during the pandemic, donating 15,000 plus meals across the Essex county to the NHS, elderly homes and vulnerable people.

 

The Mayor of Castle Point, Councillor Patricia Haunts, said “The Judges struggled to choose a winner from some very high-quality candidates. The achievements of our local businesses deserve celebrating and I would like to thank everyone who entered”.

The Business Awards provide a unique opportunity for local businesses to showcase their achievements and gain recognition in the local area.
