The search is now officially on for the winners of the next Castle Point Mayor’s Business and Apprentice Awards for 2023.
Local businesses are encouraged to nominate themselves or others for the prestigious Business of the Year Award, sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses, and the Apprentice of the Year Award, sponsored by The Castle Point Business Forum.
The awards provide an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their achievements and gain recognition in the local area.
Ann Scott, Development Manager (Essex) at the Federation of Small Businesses, said: “The FSB is grateful for the opportunity to sponsor and support the Castle Point Mayor’s Business Awards once again. As the voice of small businesses and the self-employed across the UK, we are pleased to be recognising and celebrating the achievements and contributions of businesses in Castle Point”.
Announcing the launch of the awards, The Mayor, Councillor Martin Tucker, said: "The Castle Point Mayor’s Awards are an excellent opportunity to showcase the talented individuals and businesses we have in Castle Point. It remains a challenging period for businesses and I am grateful for the astonishing resilience, hard work and innovation of our local businesses who help support the livelihoods of so many people. In these difficult times for many local businesses, it makes these awards all the more deserving".

The winners of the Castle Point Mayor’s Awards 2022 were announced at an Afternoon Tea Reception at the Council offices on Thursday 31st March 2022.
Canvey company PLAYFIX LTD, a family run company that specialises in the inspection, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of outdoor play equipment, won the coveted title of Castle Point Business of the Year.
The Runner up SEVEN TWO SEVEN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS was Highly Commended for achieving business excellence.
The Mayor’s Special Award for Business Resilience was awarded to PROSPORTS SOLUTIONS who learned to adapt to the pandemic and lockdowns by creating online provision for schools and parents, providing children with the opportunity to be healthy and active whilst being restricted indoors.
KUSHI RESTAURANT received a special Business in the Community Award recognising their outstanding service to the community donating 15,000 meals across the Essex county during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
