Have your say on revised Housing Allocations Policy
Castle Point Borough Council is inviting residents to share their views on proposed changes to its Housing Allocations Policy, which sets out how social housing is prioritised and allocated across the Borough.
The revised Policy aims to:
- Clearly explain how social housing is allocated and let
- Ensure decisions are fair, transparent and easy to understand
- Improve accessibility and clarity around eligibility and qualification
- Better prioritise applicants, given the high demand for limited social housing
- Comply with recent legislation and best practice
- Make the best use of available social housing
The formal consultation will run for eight weeks, starting 12 January 2026 and closing on 8 March 2026. Feedback gathered during this period will help shape the final Policy, which is expected to be formally adopted in 2026/27.
