Castle Point Plan submitted for independent examination
Castle Point Borough Council has formally submitted the Castle Point Plan for independent examination, marking a major milestone in shaping the future development of the borough.
The submission, made at the end of January, follows the completion of all statutory consultation stages, including the Regulation 19 consultation carried out last year. The submitted documents include the full Plan, its supporting evidence base, the policies map and all representations received during the latest consultation.
The Planning Inspectorate will now an appoint independent Planning Inspector to undertake the examination. Their role will be to assess whether the Plan is sound, legally compliant and suitable for adoption.
Councillor Warren Gibson, Deputy Leader of Castle Point Borough Council and Chairman of the Castle Point Plan Board said: “Submitting the Castle Point Plan for examination is a significant step. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to engage with the consultation process. We look forward to the next stage and will continue to keep our communities updated.”
The Council will publish further information as the examination progresses, including details of any public hearings once confirmed by the Planning Inspectorate.
