Christmas Shopfront competition winner announced
Castle Point Gas and Heating win the Christmas Shopfront Competition with their creative display
Castle Point’s Best festive Shopfront competition ran during the start of December, for small businesses to share their festively displayed shops.
We saw a wonderful mix of different shops from all over the borough, with displays featuring beautifully painted artwork, floral arrangements and even crocheted nativity displays!
The winner was Castle Point Gas and Heating in Hart Road, Thundersley, who had a vibrant animated display showing from the shop window, with the entire shop front wrapped with bright festive lights and traditional decorations
They were awarded a luxury festive hamper by the council’s Economic Development team.
Chris, Keith and the team are true community champions. Every year they create a beautiful shop display, and arrange for Santa’s sleigh to ride around Benfleet and Thundersley to raise money for local charities.
A special mention goes to Ellie Mae’s Florist in Benfleet, who came runner up with her beautifully displayed shop.
Castle Point Council arranged this competition to help businesses get in the Christmas spirit.
Castle Point Council Leader, Cllr David Blackwell said: “Well done to the winner of this year’s shopfront competition, Castle Point Gas and Heating. Your amazing window display has been noticed all around the borough and your charity efforts and how much you give back to the community should be rightly celebrated. I’d like to thank all participants to the competition for your creativity and Christmas spirit”
