SECTA Construction Academies logo

SECTA supports training and recruitment into the construction industry and its supply chain.  The fully funded programme covers Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rochford, Southend and Thurrock.  So far SECTA has supported 750 people with training and over 300 into employment in construction. 

Training includes Health and Safety for CSCS cards, basic trade courses, and specialist courses, e.g. asbestos awareness, working at heights, demolition, plant, etc. However, SECTA is able to adapt its training to business skills and recruitment needs.

The Air League Soaring to Success Logo

Small Business Commissioner logo

The Office of the Small Business Commissioner (SBC) is an independent public body appointed by the government under the Enterprise Act 2016 to tackle late payment and poor payment practice in the private sector of the UK.  The SBC can assist small businesses by checking contracts and providing advice on getting invoices right. The SBC operates a complaints scheme where small businesses can present their complaints in writing about payment issues they are experiencing with larger businesses. We are an impartial and free service.
