The Council are responsible for keeping the supplied gas fixtures, fittings and appliances in your home in good repair.
We carry out a service every 12 months to ensure everything is working correctly, this is known as the Landlord Gas Safety Record or LGSR. During the service, we’ll check the safety of all gas appliance to help prevent hazards and minimise the chance of breakdowns.
We do not carry out gas services in leaseholders homes. As a leaseholder it is your responsibility to ensure that your gas boiler is serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
See our Gas Safety Policy for more information.

To further protect yourself from CO poisoning, make sure to:
- Never use a gas appliance if you think it is not working properly
- Never block or obstruct any fixed ventilation grilles or air bricks
