Keeping Active

Being physically active has many health benefits. It can improve mental health, lower blood pressure and help us to be a healthy weight.

We should all aim to be active every day and spend less time sitting.

Adults aged 19-64 should aim to do at least 150 minutes (2.5 hours) of moderate intensity activity (such as brisk walking or cycling) or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity (such as running) each week. The advice for children and older adults is different.
