The Mayor's Awards

The search is on for the winners of the next Castle Point Mayor’s Business and Apprentice Awards for 2024. The Mayor’s Awards provide an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their achievements and gain recognition in the local area. Finalists will be invited to attend a Presentation Reception with the Mayor in the Spring 2024 to celebrate their achievements. Anyone can nominate a business or apprentice, to be eligible the businesses address must be in the borough of Castle Point.

Make a nomination 

You can nominate your own business, and there are a wide range of categories this year to choose from, including:

  • Business of the Year
  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Rising Star Award (Young businessperson of the year)
  • Green Business of the Year
  • Hair and Beauty Award
  • Hospitality and Leisure Award
  • Online Business of the Year
  • Start-up Business of the Year
  • Community Champion

The closing date is Friday 26th January 2024. You can either make a nomination through the online form, or print and return one of the hard copy forms to business@castlepoint.gov.uk

  • Apprentice of the year - Sofia Goodchild
  • Mayor's community award - individuals recognised for their outstanding dedication and commitment for going out of their way to help others in the community in which they live and work:
    • Naomi Pilkington - Swimability Squad Teacher, Runnymede Leisure Centre
    • Terry Irving - The Beacon Shed, Thundersley
    • Alan Browne - Morrisons Community Champion, Canvey Island
