Community groups across Castle Point are invited to apply for a share of £88,000 through a grant scheme designed to support projects that improve health, wellbeing and local infrastructure.

The Castle Point Community Health and Infrastructure Grant Scheme offers grants of between £2,000 and £5,000, with larger capital grants of up to £10,000 available for eligible projects.

The funding will support initiatives that benefit local communities, improve residents' quality of life and enhance facilities across the Borough.

Previous grant funding has helped deliver a wide range of successful projects, including wellbeing activities for older residents, support for community organisations, cycling and healthy lifestyle programmes, school counselling services and home adaptations for older and disabled residents.

Cllr Dave Blackwell, Leader of Castle Point Borough Council said: “This grant scheme is an opportunity to invest in local ideas that make a real difference, helping organisations deliver projects that strengthen communities and improve quality of life for people of all ages."

Cllr Warren Gibson, Deputy Leader of Castle Point Borough Council said: “Community organisations are at the heart of Borough life, providing support, opportunities and services for residents. This grant scheme will help local groups turn ideas into action, delivering projects that create lasting benefits for our residents.”

Cllr Rob Lillis, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Housing added: "Whether it's creating new opportunities for people to stay active, reducing social isolation or supporting local wellbeing initiatives, this funding is about investing in our residents and neighbourhoods. If you have a project that could make a positive difference in Castle Point, I'd strongly encourage you to apply."
