If the Court grants a possession order, we will notify the Council’s Homelessness Service. They may be able to offer you support, advice, and temporary accommodation if you are evicted. However, the Council may decide that you have made yourself intentionally homeless, which could mean you are not eligible for temporary or permanent re-housing.
If you are evicted, you will still be responsible for any outstanding rent and court costs. Recovery action may be taken on former tenants’ debts to collect what is owed. This could include referring the debt to a collection agency, which may affect your credit score.
