Garden waste bin collection service
Garden waste bin subscriptions for Castle Point Borough residents run from 1 April to 31 March each year.

Subscription details
- Use the link below to pay for a new bin or re subscription.
- New sign up available from 1st March.
- You can subscribe at any point in the year, reduced to half price from October (see Terms & Conditions). Subscriptions run from 1 April to 31 March.
- New subscribers to the garden waste service will be required to pay a joining fee of £35 plus the fee for the subscription of £43.
- New bins will be delivered within 28 days of subscription*
Please note any subscriptions/renewal after 30 April 2026 will be required to pay the £35 joining fee and also the £43 subscription fee in order to subscribe to the service.
Renew or buy a garden waste bin
Accepted items
- grass cuttings
- leaves
- dead flowers
- weeds
- old garden plants or house plants
- windfall fruit
- logs or branches*
- twigs and hedge trimmings*
* up to 7cm (3 inches) in diameter and 1m (3 foot) long. These can be bundled with string/ twine (maximum 2 bundles per collection).
Please put vegetable peelings in your food waste, not your garden waste.

Presentation
Please present your garden waste at the boundary of your property by 7am on your collection day. See more information on our waste presentation rules page.
Garden waste presented in black sacks will not be collected and only Castle Point Council brown wheeled bins, Council-approved garden waste sacks, or bundled waste will be collected.
Garden Waste sacks
Garden waste sacks are £8 (roll of 20) and can be purchased from our Leisure centres or from Benfleet, Hadleigh, Tarpots and Canvey Island libraries. Garden waste sacks purchased from other outlets will not be collected. *Note: You need a library card to pay by bank card at the libraries.
Our compostable sacks have a shelf life of 6-8 months when stored in a dry place.
