#JustBinIt

Last year Anglian Water cleared over 35,000 blockages from sewers. Most of these could have been avoided. Blockages don’t just clog pipes, they can lead to sewer flooding in homes and streets and damage the environment. Canvey Island is a particular hotspot. In just one year, Anglian Water cleared 180 blockages there caused by things that shouldn’t have been flushed.

Please don't flush:

  • Wet wipes (even if they are sold as 'flushable’, ‘plastic free’ or ‘fine to flush')
  • Sanitary products
  • Nappies
  • Cotton buds
  • Leftover cooking fats and oils (let it cool before putting in the bin)
