Castle Point Plan Consultation

We’ve set out a bold, community-led strategy for sustainable growth across the Borough. The Castle Point Plan will set out where new development will be allocated, how much affordable housing will be built and more up to 2043.

Council Tax Support Fund

To help meet the rising cost of living, this scheme provides a reduction of up to £25 against your 2023/24 Council Tax bill.

You are eligible if you are either;

  • a pension age person in receipt of Local Council Tax Support (LCTS) on 1st April 2023 or
  • a working age person in receipt of Council Tax Reduction (CTR) on 1st April 2023

and you still have a balance of Council Tax to pay for 2023/24 after your LCTS or CTR entitlement has been applied to your bill.

You do not need to make an application for this scheme – if you are eligible, we will automatically credit the reduction against your Council Tax bill and reduce any remaining instalments. The credit will show on your bill as ‘Council Tax Support Fund’.

Your Council Tax bill will be reduced;

  • by £25, if the balance of Council Tax you have to pay for 2023/24 after LCTS or CTR is more than £25 or
  • to zero, if the balance of Council Tax you have to pay for 2023/24 after LCTS or CTR is less than £25
