Emergency Plans

The Council maintains a variety of emergency plans to assist staff and provide guidance in emergency situations, ensuring the Council provides an efficient, effective and proportionate response alongside the emergency services and other partner agencies.

Examples of these plans are:

  • Emergency Response Plan - outlines the Council’s core response to emergencies and major incidents and is supported by specific plans dealing with particular hazards, functions and statutory responsibilities.
  • Flood Response Plan - reflects the known risks of flooding in Castle Point and details the response actions of the Council to incidents of flooding.
  • Coastal Pollution Response Plan - outlines the specific arrangements that are in place for a coastal pollution event to support the Council’s response.
  • Threat Warning Guidance - outlines the arrangements for dealing effectively and efficiently with a threat or other warning received by a member of staff.
  • Media & Communications Plan - outlines the various media responses available and the various methods of communications utilised by the Council to support emergency management of an incident.
