Armed Forces Day service and celebration planned for Castle Point this June

Castle Point Borough Council is proud to invite residents to a special Armed Forces Day Service on Thursday 26 June, to pay tribute to the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of the men and women who serve – and have served – in the Armed Forces.
Hosted by The Mayor of Castle Point, Councillor Barry Campagna, the service will be held at the Council Offices in Kiln Road, SS7 1TF, beginning at 10am (guests are welcome to arrive from 9:30am).
Following introductions in the Atrium, The Mayor and The Mayor's Chaplain, Revd. Marion Walford, will lead the outdoor Service where the Armed Forces Day flag will be raised in a moment of reflection.
This annual event recognises not only those in active service, but also veterans, cadets, and Service families who are an integral part of the Armed Forces community.
Mayor of Castle Point, Cllr Barry Campagna said:
“It is an honour to host this year’s Armed Forces Day Service and we look forward to welcoming members of our community as we come together to recognise the vital contributions and sacrifices of our Armed Forces, past and present.”
Uniforms, ceremonial chains, badges and decorations may be worn, as a mark of respect and unity.
Light refreshments will be provided after the service, and all members of the community are warmly invited to attend.
