Christmas shopfront competition launches today | Castle Point News

We’re looking for the best decorated shopfront in Castle Point! Whether you’re a small business that has dressed your shopfront up or a resident who has seen an amazing local Christmas display in a shop in the Borough – we want your pictures!

The best entries will be shared on our social media accounts for promotion and to be voted on by the public.

The winner will receive a free gift hamper and certificate, plus a photo opportunity and promotion for their business.

Enter your shopfront into our competition (or show us your favourite shopfront in the Borough) by emailing your pictures to business@castlepoint.gov.uk before Tuesday 16 December.

We’ll announce the winner by the end of Friday 19 December.

 

How to enter

To enter, send us the name of your business and the location in the Borough. Send your entry via our social media channels (message us) or by emailing business@castlepoint.gov.uk.

When entering your photo, please specify if you are entering your business or just sending a picture of a shopfront you have come across.

 

Terms and conditions

• The promoter is: Castle Point Borough Council whose registered office is at Kiln Rd, Thundersley, Benfleet SS7 1TF.
• The competition is open to any small business owner in Castle Point Borough Council aged 18 years and over.
• There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. 
• Entry into this competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
• Each entrant may submit an unlimited number of photographs, provided each submission is original and not previously published or entered into other competitions.
• Closing date for entry will be 16 December. After this date, no further entries will be permitted. 
• No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason. 
• The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control.
• Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter. 
• The prizes are as follows: free gift hamper and certificate, plus a photo opportunity and online promotion.
• The Prizes are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. 
• Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered.
• Final decision will be based on all social media votes on the Council's official Facebook, Nextdoor, Linkedin and X pages.
• The winner will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date. 
• The winner will only ever be contacted by representatives of Castle Point Borough Council. If the winner/s cannot be contacted or does/do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick the second highest voted entry.
• The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected/accessed. 
• The winner before receiving the prize must complete an identity verification process. This is to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.
• These terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
• Any personal data relating to the winner(s) or other entrants will be processed solely in accordance with our General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) obligations and the Data Protection Act 2018. Such data will not be disclosed to any third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
• The winning names will be available 28 days after the closing date by emailing the following address: business@castlepoint.gov.uk   
• This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any Social Network. You are providing your information to Castle Point Borough Council and not to any other party.
• The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at Privacy Notices | CastlePoint
• Castle Point Borough Council has the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon updating this document. Castle Point Borough Council also reserves the right to cancel the prize draw if circumstances arise outside of its control.
• Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
• Entrants retain copyright over their submitted image but grant Castle Point Borough Council a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for promotional purposes, with appropriate credit given.
• Entries that are offensive, plagiarised, violate copyright laws, or involve unauthorised manipulation of the original scene may be disqualified
