Mayor's Charity Run Returns This August to Raise Funds and Community Spirit

Calling all runners! The Mayor’s Charity Fun Run will return to Castle Point on Sunday 3 August 2025, starting at 9:15 AM at Waterside Farm Leisure Centre.
This fun community event aims to bring residents together for an active morning, while raising funds for Karis' Helping Hand, Canvey Transport Museum and Thundersley ATC.
Participants will take on two laps of a 2.5K route at Waterside Farm, with the event’s meeting point just to the right of the car park at the leisure centre. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a first-time jogger, the event is open to all, regardless of fitness levels or experience!
Following a successful 2024 run that saw 97 runners raise £800, this year’s goal is even more ambitious: 150 runners and £1,000 raised.
Mayor of Castle Point Borough Council, Cllr Barry Campagna said:
“I’m very much looking forward to welcoming our residents to my first Charity Fun Run as Mayor of Castle Point.
“This event is a great chance for us to come together, get active, and support a worthy cause that benefits our local community.”
Registration details and charity announcement will be shared soon. For more information, email leisure@castlepoint.gov.uk and to book, go to Select tickets – The Mayors 5K Fun Run – Waterside Farm Leisure Centre
