Planning Enforcement team secures key victories in protecting Thundersley’s Green Belt

Castle Point Borough Council’s Planning Enforcement team has successfully defended two recent appeals, reinforcing its commitment to upholding planning laws and preserving the character of Thundersley’s Green Belt.

The Planning Enforcement team plays a vital role in investigating breaches of planning control, ensuring developments comply with approved permissions and legal conditions.

These outcomes demonstrate the Council’s dedication to protecting local planning policies and ensuring fair, consistent enforcement across the Borough. By upholding enforcement notices and defending appeals, the Council helps preserve Green Belt land, prevents urban sprawl and reinforces the importance of adhering to approved planning boundaries. These decisions also provide legal clarity for future cases and send a strong deterrent message to landowners considering unauthorised development.

Councillor Tim Copsey, Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning said: “These successful appeals show that our Planning Enforcement Team is doing vital work to protect our communities and the environment. We will continue to take robust action against unauthorised development and ensure that planning rules are respected across the Borough.”
