Refuse/Recycling collections will be one day late on the week of 6 May due to the bank holiday. Please present your waste before 7am one day later than your usual collection day. Please note: this does not affect country round residents

Public Realm and Play Spaces Fund

 

Application Criteria

Applications are currently closed.

  1.  Applications should seek to address at least two of the following objectives:
    • Improvements to sports pitches and/or recreational facilities.
    • Increased biodiversity and sustainability.
    • Encourage increased usage of a recreational facility.
    • Improvements to on site signage and/or information.
    • Accessibility improvements.
  2. Improvements/activities should aim to be completed by end of March 2024
  3. Applications for grant monies will not be accepted from businesses and other for-profit organisations, or from individuals although they can still submit suggestions to the Council to undertake the works.
  4. Successful applicants who receive grants will be required to enter into legal agreements before receiving any monies and will need to provide regular updates to the Council until such time that the project is completed.
     

Success Criteria

Unfortunately the Public Realm and Play Spaces Fund is limited, so it is unlikely that all ideas submitted will be capable of being delivered. To decide which projects to take forward, the Council will apply the following criteria to all applications received. The Council has complete discretion in these criteria.

  1. Details of what you want the money for and how your project meets the specified objectives and will benefit the local community (Max. 40 points)
  2. Provides value for money - match funding (Max 20 points)*
  3. Has the support of the local community? (Max. 20 points)
  4. Estimated completion date for the project (Max. 20 points)**
     

* 2 Match Funding

  • Match funding can be cash or in-kind contributions which are secured and where the value can be evidenced.
  • Volunteer time is considered an eligible in-kind contribution.
    • Volunteer rate is £10/hour. In your request please explain how you calculated the total volunteer hours
  • Your match funding percentage (MFP) will be calculated as follows: (Match Funding/Project cost)*100
    •  For example, Match Funding is £250 and the total project value is £500 your match funding percentage is 50%
