Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
In line with social distancing advice and to protect residents and staff the Council has taken the decision to close the Council offices to the public until further notice.
Whilst the offices are closed to visitors, our operating hours remain unchanged. You are still able to access services and information from the website 24/7 and via email and phone during operating hours.
For information and advice on the Council’s response to coronavirus (COVID-19), changes to Council services, the support that is available to residents and businesses, and to volunteer to help in your community, please see our Coronavirus information page
We ask that all residents #StayHomeSaveLives – see a Message from the Leader of the Council
What is a mutual exchange?
An exchange is when you and another resident want to swap homes. It is normally the quickest way to find another home. You can swap with another Castle Point Council resident or a resident of a housing association or another local authority. To carry out a swap you need to have permission from us and any other landlord involved in the exchange.
For more information, please go to Mutual Exchanges within the FAQs section.
Castle Point Council tenants who are interested in swapping their home can access online information about possible exchange options through the Homeswapper service. This service is free to our tenants who can register on www.homeswapper.co.uk. As part of the registration process Castle Point Council will be contacted to confirm that you are eligible to use the service.
Homeswapper is easy to use, gives residents local and national options, has powerful searching options, generates thousands of potential swaps and can be tailored to your needs with alerts by text and e-mail.
The Mutual Exchange Form can be found under the section 'printable forms' on the main housing page.
