Castle Point Mayor’s Awards 2016 Launched

Awards Launch The search is on for the next winners of the Castle Point Mayor’s Business and Apprentice Awards 2016, supported by the Castle Point Business Forum and The Federation of Small Businesses. This year there is an exciting new award, the Young Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by one of last year’s winners, Edward Carter Solutions.

Launching this year’ s awards at the recent Castle Point Business Forum  Cllr Andrew Sheldon, Mayor of Castle Point urged all businessmen and women in the borough to put themselves forward for these prestigious awards. “The Business Awards are now in their ninth year, showcasing the variety, quality and strength of the local business base in our Borough,” he said. “This year we also wanted to recognise the talent of young people in our area which is why we’ve added the Young Entrepreneur award. These awards celebrate the very best of what Castle Point has to offer.”

David Bancroft, Managing Director of Edward Carter solutions, and sponsor of the new award said, “Supporting the inaugural Young Entrepreneur Award is a real pleasure for us; we believe in young talent and very much look forward to meeting the rising stars of our community. To learn how they have each overcome challenges, been resourceful in their activity and created sustained success will undoubtedly highlight the incredible potential that is emerging within our entrepreneurial borough.”

Phil Barnes Essex Regional Secretary of the Federation of Small Business said: “The FSB is delighted to be sponsoring the Castle Point Mayors Awards again this year and we are delighted that the entrepreneurial spirit of Castle Point’s business community is alive and well.”

Last year two businesses tied for first place – Benfleet based, Edward Carter Solutions and Canvey-based Epic Marketing Services. Dale Walter from Completely K9 Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation took the Apprentice Award.  As winner of last year’s Business Award, Mr Bancroft commented, “Winning this prestigious local Award has proven highly beneficial to our business. We have received very positive feedback from the local professional community and have seen value in promoting the winners logo on our marketing material.
