Don’t miss out on voting in next month’s elections

Castle Point Parliamentary and local elections take place on Thursday 7 May.

If you are not registered to vote at your current address you will not be able to exercise your franchise. Also, if you are registered to vote, but aren’t able to get to a polling station on 7 May you can apply for a postal or a proxy vote.

Deadlines for each of the above are:

Registration – Monday 20 April

Postal vote -   by 5pm Tuesday 21 April

Proxy vote -    by 5pm Tuesday 28 April

David Marchant, Castle Point’s Electoral Registration Officer, said:

“Residents must be registered to vote in Castle Point in order to take part in next month’s elections. There have been some changes in the way we all vote since last year’s elections. Everyone must now register individually to be able to take part in elections. However there is still time to do this before the deadline of Monday 20 April.”

Polling cards are currently being delivered to all homes in the Castle Point Borough and should be complete by Sunday 12 April.

There are no changes to polling stations this year, but please check your polling card to ensure you know where to vote on 7 May.
