Outline Planning Application

If you are proposing to erect buildings and wish to find out at an early stage, whether or not a proposal is likely to be approved by the planning authority, you will need to submit the following:

 

 

Please submit planning applications online at The Planning Portal https://www.planningportal.co.uk/apply

Your application must include the following:

  • 1 signed and dated copy of the fully completed planning application form
  • 1 copy of the maximum envelope of the proposed building
    • Plans should be no larger than A1 (unless absolutely necessary).
  • 1 copy of other plans /drawings / details to be considered at the ‘outline’ stage e.g access arrangements , external appearance.
    • Drawings must be to a recognised scale
  • The correct fee (paid online via the Planning Portal or by phone 01268 882200)

 

Outline planning permission is granted subject to conditions requiring the subsequent approval of one or more ‘reserved matters’ at a later stage.

 

For major applications you must also include the

  • Drainage checklist (No. 5a)

Depending on the type of application there may also be additional information that is required when submitting your application.

Please refer to ‘Validation Checklist No.12 Additional Requirements’, and ensure that any relevant information is also provided.
